Raj Apte | EY Partner, Head of Restructuring for Central & Southeast Europe and CIS (CESA)

With over 23 years’ experience of restructuring and capital structure advisory, Raj has advised borrowers and creditors on a broad range of complex financial restructuring engagements across a variety of industries, sectors and geographies. Before joining EY, he was Director of the Restructuring & Financial Advisory Group EMEA at Lazard in London and Frankfurt, where he was also Head of Restructuring for Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Prior to that, Raj worked for Morgan Stanley in London, first in the Leveraged and Acquisition Finance team, and then as Executive Director in the Restructuring and Financial Advisory Group EMEA. Raj is dual qualified as a Solicitor (England) and as a German attorney-at-law (Rechtsanwalt) and is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments.

Ben Trask | EY Partner, Turnaround and Restructuring

Ben has 20 years’ experience of restructuring, turnaround, insolvency and corporate finance advisory, he has significant international experience including successful cross-border transactions in Dubai, Bermuda, the US and Central and Eastern Europe. Ben has supported numerous lenders to manage their exposures and corporates to restructure their operations and financial debts and raise new capital. Before joining EY, Ben was a Partner at Deloitte in Austria. Most recently he led the Austrian practice's debt advisory and financial services advisory businesses in Vienna.

David Xuereb | President, The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry

Architect David Xuereb graduated in Architecture and Civil Engineering from the University of Malta in 1991 and then in Structural Engineering from the University of London in 1993.  David has led large multinational professional teams within the industry of the built environment.
David was elected President of The Malta Chamber of Commerce Enterprise and Industry in March 2019 after having served in different roles within its Council since 2009. He occupied various posts within the organisation as a member of Council, member of the Board of Management, Deputy President and Chair of the Energy and Environment Committee.
His technical experience varies widely but current professional interests focus on sustainable development and resource management for resilient economies to address Climate Change. Mr Xuereb lectures at the University of Malta, is a director of Malta Enterprise and of the Building Industry Consultative and Executive Councils, a member of the Climate Change Board and is a Trustee of the Conservatorio Vincenzo Bugeja


Ediana Guillaumier | Strategy and Transactions Senior Manager

Ediana is a Senior Manager within the Strategy and Transactions team in EY Malta. Throughout the course of her career, she has assisted cross-border engagements, advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, transactions, financing and re-financing throughout Europe and North America. Ediana has over 15 years' experience in several sectors including hospitality, aviation, retail and financial services.
