Aaron Patel is the CEO of iHandal Energy Solutions Sdn Bhd, a turnkey energy solutions provider that reimagines the purpose of a utility company. iHandal recovers and processes waste energy from a client and returns it in a useful form that is used in a more efficient and effective way.

The company has gained more than 60% market share for hot water generation from thermal waste energy in the Malaysian hospitality market, serving almost 20,000 guest rooms daily and delivering a carbon footprint reduction of almost 100,00 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually, equivalent to more than 21,700 cars’ carbon dioxide emissions. In 2007, at the age of 15, Aaron had to manage his father’s trading business after he fell ill. Upon graduating from high school in 2009, with self-taught knowledge from books in thermodynamics, Aaron founded iHandal. The business expanded to designing, assembling and maintaining their own range of solutions across five countries in Asia.

Since 2017, iHandal has further developed and licensed technologies enabling a broader application of their solutions which has driven the company’s transition into the industrial sector with applications on a much larger scale, delivering savings as high as 5% of revenue to its customers.
