How banks should respond as sustainable finance becomes mainstream

In this webcast, EY leaders discuss their views on the sustainable finance space for the banking and capital markets.

In light of increasing pressure from investors, regulators and society, sustainable finance is gathering significant momentum globally. Sustainable finance can mean different things in different contexts.

In Singapore, the management of environmental risks, in particular, has taken on added importance and urgency with the introduction of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) Guidelines on Environmental Risk Management in late 2020.

As stakeholders and society increase pressure on businesses relative to climate change, financial institutions must decide how to engage on sustainability and the transition to net zero. It’s not just a matter of setting policies, meeting regulatory mandates and avoiding “brown” industries, but rather of making sustainable finance a lever for growth.

Highlights of this session:

  • A review of the key components of the MAS Guidelines and to share how banks can meet these requirements to enhance their resilience to and management of environmental risk
  • Insights on the growing classes of sustainable products that are emerging in the debt sphere
  • The future of banking and capital markets in relation to ESG

The session is led by experienced speakers from the EY Financial Services and Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) teams, who will share their take on the Sustainable Finance space for the banking and capital markets on the back of stakeholders’ expectations and regulatory changes, to help you drive your strategic ESG agendas.
