Before EY, I worked on the other side of the table for thirteen years. I know the dynamics of multinationals inside-out.

Arjan Groen

EY Netherlands Partner Strategy and Transactions

Open. Honest. Solution-oriented. Pragmatic. Two of his projects have been recognized with a President’s Award for outstanding client results.

Arjan Groen assists companies in creating value in the long term, through mergers, acquisitions, alliances and other transformations.

He studied law in Leiden and then pursued postgraduate studies at top international universities, in fields like Supply Chain (Stanford), Advanced Management (INSEAD) and Change Management (IMD). He is a black belt in Lean Six Sigma, and recently became certified in governance at INSEAD. He has been working as a partner at EY since 2009. For thirteen years, he was responsible for M&A and Integration at an AEX-listed multinational. In addition to his work at EY, he is a university guest lecturer at the Rotterdam School of Management.

“In-depth advice and hands-on management experience are what I can offer. With this background, I can advise board members to make better decisions, and also help in implementing them. Radical changes are usually involved, such as integration, divestment, alliances, or reorganization of the business. My advice is always clear and honest. Clients tend to value this, as is clear from the President’s Awards that I have won in two complex projects.”

How Arjan is building a better working world

“Prior to my current role at EY, I worked on the other side of the table for thirteen years. I know the dynamics of multinationals inside-out. What drives me? Doing all I can to make clients successful. Even though the number of cases I’ve worked on run into their hundreds, each assignment is still unique and a learning opportunity for me. The stakes are often high, with a fine line between success and failure. M&A is a powerful instrument in long-term value creation - together with shareholder returns, employment and other social aspects also play an important role.”
