Valencia is Corporate Responsibility Coordinator with the EY NextGen program, which aims to develop the next generation of women leaders in Africa. She helps guide and expose school learners to a variety of careers and limitless opportunities in the world.
In her current role, she is constantly learning and looking for ways to improve the lives of the NextGen participants, their families, schools and communities. When learners are accepted into the program, they immediately become part of the EY family and are provided with physical, emotional and intellectual support needed to become successful.
Prior to joining EY, Valencia worked in HR at a management consultant.
How Valencia is building a better working world
“Every day, I am in touch with the communities we work with and get to understand what their struggles are. This allows me to communicate back to the business and put together the necessary means and measures to assist them in the most sustainable way. I strive to teach those whose lives we impact to ‘pay it forward’ as this is the best way of building a successful nation.
I live by the philosophy, ‘Do all the good you can, in all the ways you can, to all the people you can, in every place you can, at all the times you can, as long as you can.’”
