What is Vested?

Vested is a business model and method for creating highly collaborative win-win business relationships. The Vested model is based on award-winning research conducted by the University of Tennessee College of Business Administration and funded by the U.S. Air Force. As a Vested Center of Excellence, EY has a large Certified Deal Architect team capable of helping organisations on their Vested Journey. EY is also part of developing the Vested methodology.

Why Vested?

Vested enables organizations to increase innovation and the value created by their business relationships. This is true regardless of if you are the supplier, the buyer or part of an ecosystem that wants to work together. By creating aligned interests, the parties can work together to create a bigger pie, rather than spending time and resources fighting over the existing pie.

When to use Vested

Vested is suitable for strategic relationships and has been used with great success, for example within core business outsourcing, construction projects, Facilities Management & Real Estate, IT services, logistics services, food supply, Business Process Outsourcing (e.g. finance processes), sales of expensive/complex products, maintenance of infrastructure, and other areas across many different industries. Vested Agreements can be bilateral or multilateral.

EY helps buyers and suppliers during the entire transformation journey…

From an assessment of whether Vested is suitable for a specific business relationship, through a collaborative contracting phase and finally to the implementation stage and beyond, when parties live their Vested contract.

We are the largest and only global Center of Excellence within Vested. This puts us in a unique position to advice clients who are interested in Vested anywhere in the world, and on a global scale. In our role as a Center of Excellence, we also support the Vested ecosystem in developing the methodology, providing education, sharing insights, and writing articles.
