-       EY has been the leading corporate finance advisor in the Nordics within the gaming industry over the past years with more than 25 completed deals. Mikael’s transaction expertise combined with his understanding of the gaming market and financial management will elevate our knowledge and network within gaming and eSports further. His understanding of key drivers of free-to-play gaming companies will bring great value not only to EY as a company but more importantly to our clients who can draw on this expertise. I´m very excited that Mikael decided to join EY and look forward to strengthening our position within international gaming further, says Staffan Ekström, Nordic TMT leader, Corporate Finance, EY.

-       I am super excited to join the EY corporate finance team. I have had the pleasure of working with many of my new colleagues in the past as a client and have always appreciated the EY team’s knowledge and culture. The gaming industry has seen tremendous growth over the past years driven by mobile free-to-play games. The new monetization model and platforms have made this sector much broader and non-cyclical, as evidenced through the Covid pandemic. Several gaming companies have been able to build great value to their shareholders through efficient M&A which some of the listed companies in the Nordics are great examples of. I believe this consolidation of the gaming industry will continue in the coming years and I am happy to be a small part of this fantastic ecosystem, says Mikael Jakobson.
