How to effectively deal with internal investigations

Learn more about the common issues in internal investigations and how to carry out investigations effectively.

Conducting an effective internal investigation is a particularly important concern for listed companies, as they have responsibilities to the investing public and are also increasingly subject to regulatory oversight.

Individuals who have had experience in conducting investigations will understand that it is not an easy task on hand, especially with the various operational, legal and personnel aspects to manage.

Understandably, the organization needs to strike a fine balance between taking prompt action in response to allegations of fraud and corruption, the rights of the individuals involved, and protecting confidential information. The burden of finding the right balance often falls on independent directors and/or sponsors who may have little or no prior experience in the practical aspects of internal investigations.

During this seminar, we will examine common issues in internal investigations and consider their legal implications, and discuss how organizations can carry out investigations effectively.

Key topics include:

  • Key steps in a corporate internal investigation
  • Disclosure obligations
  • Pre-empting legal challenges and next steps
  • Overcoming practical issues in the investigation

The event speakers will include partners with a broad range of experience in investigative and forensic work, as well as litigation experience in employment and fraud disputes involving listed companies.
