EY announces the appointments of Jan Bellens as the new EY Global Banking & Capital Markets (BCM) Leader and Isabelle Santenac as the new EY Global Insurance Leader. Jan and Isabelle will bring a new perspective to financial services clients as they navigate an evolving landscape of digital disruption and business transformation.

Jan joined EY in 2013 from McKinsey & Company with extensive experience in driving growth opportunities for leading global banks across markets. He most recently served as EY Deputy Banking & Capital Markets Leader. Previously, he was the EY Asia-Pacific Banking & Capital Markets Leader and EY Global Banking & Capital Markets Emerging Markets Leader. Jan spent the last 16 years in Asia, where he witnessed the growth and innovation of the banking world first-hand.

In his new role, Jan will oversee all aspects of EY Banking & Capital Markets strategy, with the goal to further increase EY leadership in global banking and supporting clients with the challenges they are addressing day-to-day. One of his main purposes will be to help the banking industry in its goals to be considered as a trusted and responsible sector.

Jan Bellens, EY Global Banking & Capital Markets Leader, says:

“We have seen an immense transformation across banking and capital markets in recent years. Having spent more than 15 years at the forefront of this change in Asia, I look forward to bringing new perspectives to the EY Global Banking & Capital Markets team to help provide differentiating solutions to clients. With new technologies rapidly developing and scaling – artificial intelligence, in particular – it is imperative we provide clients with the trusted and responsible innovative solutions to succeed in the ever-changing environment.”

Isabelle has been with EY for more than 17 years after beginning her career at Arthur Andersen. She brings deep financial services experience, and as a global serving partner she guided large international clients through significant organizational changes. Since 2012, she has served as the EY EMEIA Financial Services Assurance Leader, strengthening the services with many major industry audit wins. Prior to this, Isabelle was EY Global Assurance Chief Operating Officer based in London, where she helped launch the audit transformation program and Finance and Accounting Advisory Services.

As the EY Global Insurance Leader, Isabelle will focus on supporting account teams and providing clients with the capabilities and solutions to navigate through the challenges of transformation. This includes leveraging EY technology, digital and data services while helping clients with their transformation programs to prepare them for the future of the insurance sector.

Isabelle Santenac, EY Global Insurance Leader, says:

“The insurance sector intertwines within every industry, overlaps with major world events and maintains an immense responsibility to lead the way. In today’s Transformative Age, insurers are more focused than ever on customer experience, innovation, optimizing their business models and interacting with their ecosystem. Clients rely on us to help them innovate to improve performance and drive long-term growth, and I look forward to setting up clients for success, now and into the future.”

Shaun Crawford, EY Global Vice Chair for Industry, says:
