Markus Gericke, CEO and Chairman of the Gericke Group, and recipient of the EY Family Enterprise Award of Excellence, Switzerland, can trace his entrepreneurial roots as far back as the 19th century, to be more precise, to 1894. That was when Walter H. Gericke, with his visionary thinking, founded W. Gericke, a machinery factory for flour mill equipment and related industry in Zurich.
128 years later, this multinational Swiss-based family business has successfully diversified at the right intervals and is seeing an admirable growth curve. Today, Gericke Group is one of the leading Swiss companies that specializes in bulk materials handling and processing technology that is globally used in many sectors, including food, chemical, pharmaceutical, plastics and construction material industries. Gericke’s fully owned group of companies have a global presence in around 12 countries and is staffed by more than 350 experienced professionals.
Markus Gericke joined the company in 1993 and has been instrumental in spearheading the company’s elevation from a regional to a multinational solutions provider across various industries and countries. All this, while embodying the best of Swiss values in engineering and machine construction alongside fast and reliable automated solutions for bulk material handling.
These values resonate in Gericke’s motto, “many voices, one sound,” reflecting the consolidation of the company culture for the customer’s benefit, enhanced by the expertise, value and trust to fulfil customer needs. Markus, assisted by his Executive Group Management, Group Management Services and Executive Management Team, believes in continuous development and conscious sustainability.
