    Assurance

We make sure that businesses are protected from risks that can affect their reputation and performance. As external auditors, we provide confidence that businesses and governments publish true and fair financial information others can rely on - helping to build a better working world.

    Technology in Assurance

From implementing digital approaches into our global audit methodology to processing millions of transactions into visual analytics solutions, innovation and technology will be embedded into your audit clients from day one.

We're using innovative technology such as Robotic Process Automation and Process Mining to review our client’s population data. You'll receive structured training to upskill in digital technology such as data visualisation or design thinking and bring that into your audit work.

    What will you be doing?

    • Getting to know our clients, their businesses and how they work
    • Testing business controls to ensure they work how they’re supposed to
    • Performing an independent assessment of financial information to ensure financial statements are true and fair
    • Using hybrid working to spend time on client sites, in the office and at home
    • You'll have a dedicated careers counsellor throughout the programme to help you during busier seasons, development and learning

    Are you eligible to apply?

We operate an open access to all policy and we don’t screen out any applications only on your academic performance at GCSE or A-Level. However, you’ll need a minimum of Level 2/GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths and to have completed three A-levels, five Highers or equivalent by the time the programme starts. It is therefore important that you provide us with your top three obtained or accurately predicted A-Levels (or equivalent) as these will be verified and considered as part of the offer process should you be successful. Any drop in grades could jeopardise your offer of employment.

      How’s it structured?

First up, an induction will verse you in all things EY. Before you know it you’ll be working on audits for clients - with lots of help of course!. This includes being your client's main contact and regularly working from their offices (through hybrid working) to strengthen relationships and learn about their businesses.

Along the way, you’ll study and shadow senior colleagues, supported by your own personal careers counsellor who’ll help guide your growth. This kind of exposure to the finance industry, together with working towards your qualifications, will open up many more opportunities within EY and beyond.

Throughout the programme you’ll have a buddy to help guide you. They’ll be your first point of call for practical help and guidance. We also provide coaching so you always have access to impartial advice, opportunities and ongoing support.

Starting out in Assurance requires dedication, hard work and flexibility during the busier seasons, but the knowledge and experience you’ll gain will set you on a fulfilling career path.
