Since March, the Chancellor has set out what he calls a package of “temporary, timely and topical” measures to support public services, people and businesses through the disruption caused by the COVID-19 crisis.
The initial measures focused on supporting employment, providing cash flow support to businesses, and increasing welfare support. The Chancellor’s Summer Statement on 8 July then unveiled a “Plan for Jobs” to protect, support and create jobs as part of the Government’s second phase of its economic response.
Our guide looks at the support available, eligibility and the practicalities of accessing it.
We’ve developed additional stimulus trackers on key topics to help you monitor the global situation. Trackers include global tax policy, global trade, force majeure, transfer pricing, global mobility, labour and employment law. You can find them here.
