CEO, Snag Group Ltd
Being excluded from fashion because of your size or body shape is a constant battle for millions of people. In 2018, Brigitte Read discovered that the global tights market is worth over £50bn per year, and a large proportion of women say their tights don’t fit. So, she changed them.
Brigitte spent two years working with manufacturers to develop ways of producing a range of tights that didn’t just fit all body shapes and sizes but were also high in quality and affordability. Selling to customers worldwide through Snag’s own websites, Brigitte’s strategy has allowed rapid growth. The company currently takes orders from over 60,000 customers from around the globe every month.
Exclusion in the fashion industry has led me to create a global tights brand which aims to make everyone feel amazing, no matter their body type.
Brigitte’s entrepreneurial drive to build a better world has put focus on clothing made from eco-friendly sustainable fibres, and she is expanding Snag’s product range, and developing the world’s first ever recycling process to allow tights to be recycled into components for the automotive industry. Brigitte’s vision is on track to build a billion-dollar brand.
