As emerging technologies disrupt entire industries, our future will look very different, and sooner than you think.

Jeff Wong, EY Global Chief Innovation Officer, and Sophie Hackford, a futurist and CEO of 1715 Labs, discuss how disruptive technologies could shape our world in the next decade. They explore some profound possibilities.

“There will be an economy in space. How will it impact innovation here on earth?” asks Sophie. Companies are already building 3D-printed rockets and manufacturing in space is not far off. The space industry, Sophie says, is only just the beginning.

Digital immortality is another concept to look out for. Algorithmic versions of humans already exist today as data is being captured through wearables, subscription services, digital assistants, internet searches and thermostats. This data could soon be processed by a smart set of robots to create a version of us, which could represent us in the digital sphere even beyond our lifetimes.

Summary

Business leaders that embrace the future will be at the forefront of the opportunities created by emerging technologies.
