James Nicholson, EY-Parthenon Energy Transition Leader, comments on the Electric Vehicle measures announced by the Chancellor in the Budget:

“The top-up of support to automotive supply chains will be welcomed by industry, as will the increased funding for charging infrastructure and more incentives for R&D. But it’s critical that support is focused in the right places if it is to make a real difference. For the UK’s automotive and manufacturing sectors, this means channelling investment towards homegrown supply chains and developing intellectual property.”
