Quality Network

Our 130 professionals who make up the US Quality Network are proactively improving audit quality by coaching our audit teams, performing workpaper reviews, advising them on audit methodology matters, providing training, and executing various risk management and quality control procedures.

Our US Professional Practice Group

Our US Professional Practice Group, which includes approximately 100 partners and 30 managing directors, supports our audit services by consulting with our teams on difficult accounting, auditing, and SEC and other regulatory matters.

Our US Professional Practice Group provides audit teams and the companies we audit with guidance and thought leadership on a wide range of financial reporting topics, including current issues such as those relating to the pandemic, reporting on ESG matters and special purpose acquisition companies (SPAC) mergers that result in private companies becoming public companies.

The group also develops materials to help our teams deliver high-quality audits, performs risk management activities, evaluates our quality control system, and operates our monitoring and internal inspection programs.

Americas Assurance Digital Team and our Innovation Network

 

The Americas Assurance Digital Team is a network of data scientists, client-serving professionals, engineers and PMO professionals. Focused on data, service delivery, solution development and launch, they provide the tools and technology to our auditors together with the Quality Network and our Innovation Network.

To accelerate learning across the group, mid-career professionals take on additional leadership roles as coaches to our audit teams and as sponsors of regionally based innovation efforts. Working with our audit professionals, the Innovation Network helps teams leverage data analytics as part of the audit and creates ongoing opportunities to develop their digital capabilities.

Multidisciplinary firm approach

In today’s increasingly complex environment, our ability to execute high-quality audits is strengthened by our ability to bring the right resources to the audit at the right time.

Our multidisciplinary strategy allows us to  include in our audit teams EY professionals who focus on tax, IT and valuation matters and, in certain audits, forensic accounting.

Having subject-matter resources in these areas to collaborate with our audit professionals helps us deliver high-quality audits at a time when IT environments, business models, transactions and worldwide tax regimes are increasing in complexity.

By bringing together diverse perspectives, audit teams can marry objectivity and professional skepticism with deep technical skill sets, helping us ask the right questions to perform high-quality audits.
