IEMS is a global network of academic institutions, supported by EY, that are based in emerging markets, dedicated to the study of the impact of macroeconomics in their respective markets and the global marketplace. Established in 2013, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Institute for Emerging Market Studies (HKUST IEMS) has a mission to provide thought leadership on issues facing businesses and policy-makers in emerging markets. The institute has more than 40 faculty associates and focuses its research on the following thematic issues:

  • Sustainable growth and development
  • Macroeconomic and internal economic policy
  • Capital market development
  • Business management and strategy
  •  Human capital

It provides a platform that attracts and links leading thinkers and experts from around the world, who can collaborate on studying timely and critical issues in emerging markets.

SKOLKOVO's Institute for Emerging Market Studies

A part of the Moscow School of Management, the mission of SKOLKOVO’s Institute for Emerging Market Studies (IEMS) is to develop the knowledge and insight that enables individuals and organizations to advance their frontiers in Russia and in emerging markets.

SKOLKOVO IEMS conducts cutting-edge research and advisory services focused on the strategic issues of regional studies, globalization, innovation, institutional development and sustainable business models.
