Mahoney oversees 27 offices and 10,000 professionals

Ernst & Young LLP (EY) has announced the appointment of Frank Mahoney as Region Managing Partner for the US-West. In his new role, Mahoney is responsible for driving market leadership, developing and retaining talent, creating high-performing teams and providing exceptional client service for a regional practice of 10,000 professionals spanning 18 states and 27 offices. He also serves as a senior advisory partner for several of the region’s largest clients and continues to serve on the US Executive Committee and the Americas Operating Executive.

“I’m excited to lead the US-West Region and build on the significant growth that EY has achieved,” said Mahoney. “In our current Transformative Age, the pace of change has never been faster and embracing transformation and helping our clients navigate it have never been more vital. There is significant opportunity here, and we look forward to making a positive impact with the companies and communities we serve.”

As the US-West Managing Partner, Mahoney leads a powerful force in the US’ fastest-growing geography. EY US serves clients in the region ranging from innovative and entrepreneurial companies to global brand leaders, including all of the region-based companies on Fortune’s Top 10 Most Admired Companies list.

Mahoney, who is based in Silicon Valley, brings more than three decades of experience with EY to his new role. He formerly served as the Americas Vice Chair for Assurance, where he led 20,000 audit, financial and reporting professionals. He also led the digital transformation of the US firm’s Audit practice and oversaw the launch of EY Canvas and EY Helix, leading-edge audit technologies that respond to the evolving needs of businesses, regulators and investors.

Mahoney succeeds Kay Matthews and Randy Cain, Region Managing Partners of the West and Southwest, respectively. Both Kay and Randy retired in June 2019 after more than 35 years with the firm. They both had remarkable EY careers, making a tremendous impact on the growth and success of EY in their regions and across the Americas.

“Frank has spent decades at EY building a stellar reputation as an inclusive leader with a deep understanding of our business,” said Kelly Grier, EY US Chairman and Managing Partner and Americas Managing Partner. “He is the ideal person to ensure our teams deliver exceptional client service in our fastest-growing market.”

Mahoney and his wife have four children, and outside of work, he can be found spending time at the beach and boating with his family.
