Ernst & Young LLP (EY US) appointed Esi Akinosho to serve as the Houston Office Managing Partner, effective July 1. Akinosho succeeds Bill Strait, who has held the position since 2017. Strait has been named the new EY Americas Deputy Vice Chair of Assurance.

As Houston Office Managing Partner, Akinosho leads the EY Houston office of nearly 1,800 people and is responsible for expanding the firm’s market position, connecting with the community and fostering a supportive and inclusive culture for all employees. Akinosho has been serving clients in Houston for nearly two decades and has 28 years of experience in risk advisory services. Before assuming the role of Houston Office Managing Partner, Akinosho was the EY Global Advisory Internal Audit Leader where she was responsible for driving transformation, innovation and growth for EY Internal Audit services globally, working with our clients across industries and geographies.

“Esi is a proven and effective leader who is deeply committed to the Houston community and our firm’s purpose of building a better working world,” said Frank Mahoney, EY US-West Regional Managing Partner. “She has outstanding experience to continue driving exceptional service for our clients, growth across our practice and opportunities for our people.”

Akinosho is passionate about helping clients embrace innovation and business transformation. She is a UK chartered accountant (FCA) with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Accounting from the University of Reading, UK. “I am honored to lead our Houston office and for the opportunity to strengthen and grow our EY brand in the market,” said Akinosho. “Now more than ever, our clients are facing significant challenges that will require agile and innovative solutions. I am proud of the strong and diverse talent and capabilities we have in Houston and look forward to helping our clients navigate the current economic headwinds, drive value and build business resilience.”
