EY appoints Steve Payne as Americas Deputy Managing Principal

Ernst & Young LLP (EY US) announced that Steve Payne has been named as Deputy Managing Principal of EY Americas, effective November 1, 2021. His responsibilities cover operations and strategic projects across the US and Americas geographic area, which represents more than US$21.2b in combined revenues and 81,000 people in member firms in 31 countries.

Payne has held several leadership positions within EY, most recently as EY Americas Vice Chair – Consulting, and previously as Global Leader for the EY-Parthenon strategy and operations consultancy, as well as EY Americas Deputy Leader for Strategy & Transactions. He has advised top-tier institutions on operations management and working capital improvement for more than 30 years, drawing on extensive international experience in Europe and emerging markets in the Americas and Asia-Pacific.

He succeeds Anthony Caterino, who was appointed EY Global Deputy Managing Partner – Business Enablement, effective December 1, 2021. In his new role, Caterino works closely with Steve Krouskos, EY Global Managing Partner – Business Enablement, in driving the continued transformation of EY infrastructure and operations. He served as the EY Americas Area Deputy Managing Partner since 2020 and is the Executive Sponsor of the EY Veterans Network. Caterino also held the position of EY Americas Financial Services Organization (FSO) Regional Managing Partner from 2015 to 2020, among other leadership roles over the course of his 30-year career at EY.
