In this video, EY leaders explore how the mobility function can be redefined, as the COVID-19 pandemic recedes, to meet new challenges, manage risk and reimagine work.

The pandemic is driving the need for new types of cross-border mobility.

According to the EY 2021 Work Reimagined Employer survey, 45% of employers think that international experiences are critical for future leadership. Fifty percent of employers believe mobility is important for career growth, and 49% of employers perceived that mobility is important for global workforce planning and talent management.

Simon Stanaway, EY Americas Mobility Leader, and Rachel D’Argenio, EY Americas Mobility Market Leader, explore how mobility functions may be leveraged to increase capabilities, add value, and bridge gaps within the organization.

Questions covered include:

  • How critical is mobility function to business strategy as organizations continue to value cross-border travel?
  • Is the term ‘mobility’ the best way to describe the function that manages the global workforce moving forward?
  • How can mobility leaders address concerns about risk moving forward and guide their organizations?

As people begin returning to offices and traveling for business following COVID-19 shutdowns, this is an unprecedented moment for the mobility function to shine. Rather than just returning to the office, this is our change to reimagine work.

Summary

The mobility function must evolve to suit the demands of a remote, hybrid, and global workforce.
