JOHANNESBURG, 9 September 2021 – EY Africa was named the Overall Africa Champion at the 9th Annual Gender Mainstreaming Awards on Thursday evening, 9 September 2021.

EY Africa scooped the top position in three more categories for non-listed organisations in South Africa namely Equal Representation and Participation, Economic Empowerment and the Empowerment of Women in the Community.

EY Africa went on to be named the East Africa winner for Women Empowerment in the Workplace and overall winner for the category Equal Representation and Participation. In West Africa, EY Africa achieved the top spot for Investing in Young Women and once more, in the category of Equal Representation and Participation.

  • Elevate & Leadership @ EY – Elevate is EY’s new global partner pipeline program. Through an accelerated skills development experience aligned with our Transformative Leadership model, we are making a differential investment in preparing participants to be partner ready and enabling a smooth transition to partner. 
  • Africa Partner Learning – is a programme to enhance personal leadership capabilities, agility and competency in order to lead and shape teams effectively and ensure exceptional client experiences; Deepen business acumen together with the knowledge, awareness & breadth of perspective needed for continued business growth and performance as an organisation.
  • Africa Women’s Network - The Africa Women’s Network purpose is to build a network for women across Africa to support career growth and the identification of the intentional (structural) and unintentional (unconscious) barriers/blockers.
  • Certification – EY encourages our suppliers to join WEConnect South Africa. WEConnect International in South Africa identifies, educates, registers, and certifies women's business enterprises that are at least 51% owned, managed, and controlled by one or more women. The WEConnect International Seal of certification is open to businesses in 46 countries representing 60% of the world’s population.
