NFTE: Developing the entrepreneurial mindset
In today’s innovation economy, needs and opportunities are evolving faster and more fluidly than ever before. We believe preparing our youth for this unpredictable future means placing greater emphasis on the teaching and learning of entrepreneurial ‘metaskills’ such as initiative and self-direction, flexibility and adaptability, and creativity and innovation. These are the skills and characteristics increasingly needed to equip young talent with the ability to continually reinvent their minds, recognize opportunity and innovate in the face of challenges.
It’s why we at EY are a proud supporter of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) and its project-based curriculum to teach these skills to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, greatly increasing their prospects of success at school and beyond.
It’s also why we are proud to be the signature sponsor of NFTE’s Entrepreneurial Mindset Index (EMI) – an emerging methodology for measuring the presence of these characteristics in schools and businesses across the world.
