Mark Barton

Partner

Mark Barton is a partner in Ernst & Young LLP’s National Professional Practice Group based in Washington, DC. In this role, he is responsible for consulting with engagement teams and clients on technical accounting matters related to leases, accounting changes and various other topics.

Prior to this position, Mark completed a fellowship at the Financial Accounting Standards Board where he focused on issues related to revenue recognition and stock-based compensation. He also worked at the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office of the Chief Accountant. Prior to that, Mark worked in EY’s Assurance practice in Pittsburgh serving clients in a variety of industries.

Mark earned his Master of Science in accounting from the University of Virginia and his Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the District of Columbia, New York and Pennsylvania and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

EY - Rachel Simons

Rachel Simons

Partner

Rachel Simons is a partner in Ernst & Young LLP’s National Professional Practice Group based in Cleveland. She specializes in revenue recognition accounting matters. In this role, Rachel is responsible for developing the firm’s interpretive guidance, interacting with standard setters and advising clients and engagement teams throughout the Americas practice.

From June 2010 through July 2012, Rachel was a Professional Accounting Fellow in the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office of the Chief Accountant. Rachel began her career at EY serving assurance and advisory clients in the Los Angeles area.

Rachel earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Southern California, Leventhal School of Accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Ohio, New York and California and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and The Ohio Society of CPAs.

EY - Jennifer Todling

Jennifer Todling

Partner

Jennifer Todling is a partner in Ernst & Young LLP’s National Professional Practice Group based in McLean, Va. She is involved in developing audit guidance, participating in standard setting activities and consulting on auditing matters, particularly related to implementation efforts for the new revenue standard and auditor’s reporting model. Jennifer was a Professional Accounting Fellow in the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Office of the Chief Accountant from June 2014 through April 2017, where she participated in many of the SEC’s activities with respect to its oversight of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.

Jennifer began her career at EY in the Irvine, Calif. office auditing public and private companies of varying size, primarily in the life sciences and healthcare industries. Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from California State University, Fullerton. She is a Certified Public Accountant in Virginia, California and New York and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Josh Forgione is a partner in Ernst & Young LLP’s National Professional Practice Group based in Washington, DC. He primarily focuses on business combinations and consolidation matters. Prior to joining EY, Josh served as an Associate Chief Accountant in the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Office of the Chief Accountant and interacts regularly with the SEC staff to resolve issues involving financial accounting and disclosure matters and the interpretation and application of SEC rules and regulations.

Josh is a member of the Financial Reporting Executive Committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), a senior committee of the AICPA for financial reporting.

Josh earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from George Mason University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the District of Columbia and a member of the AICPA.
