EY appoints Herb Engert as EY Global Private Equity Leader

EY announces the appointment of Herb Engert as EY Global Private Equity Leader, overseeing EY’s network of more than 5,000 industry professionals worldwide, effective from 1 January 2017. Engert succeeds Jeffrey Bunder.
Based in New York, Engert has served as EY Americas’ Growth Markets Leader for the last five years during which he enhanced the EY brand as the leading organization in serving the entrepreneur and middle market. He joined EY in 2002 from Arthur Andersen and has held roles across EY’s Transaction Advisory Services, Assurance and Advisory businesses.
Engert has more than 25 years of experience working with private equity and corporate acquirers, assisting clients in financial and operations due diligence, transaction structuring, purchase agreements and integration analysis. He has advised many large corporate clients and leading global private equity groups on numerous multibillion dollar international transactions.
Engert says: “I look forward to maintaining our outstanding client service and further elevating our brand in the marketplace by honing how we can help our clients strategically, as well as navigating an ever-shifting business landscape at a time of unprecedented change.”
Engert takes charge at a time of rapid transformation in private equity, as disruption creates new opportunities and challenges for the industry in an evolving global regulatory landscape. Passionate about engendering a strong team approach, he will collaborate with regional leaders to drive an innovative, global strategy.
Engert has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the US states of Maryland, New York and Virginia and the District of Columbia.
