2017 Tax Risk and Controversy Survey Series

The EY 2017 Tax Risk and Controversy Survey Series provides a fascinating look at the challenges business taxpayers are seeing in practice across the tax lifecycle of planning, provision, compliance and reporting. 901 tax and finance executives in 69 jurisdictions across more than 17 industries participated in the EY survey, which was conducted between January and February 2017.

The first report in the five-part series, Tax steps into the light, provides a broad overview of the survey’s findings. The second report, Out of the dark, takes a deeper look at the risks businesses reported in responding to the G20/OECD BEPS initiative.

Future reports will cover emerging trends in controversy and best practices businesses are following to manage tax risk and thrive. The final report in the series will examine the findings of a separate survey EY conducted of tax authorities’ views of tax risk and controversy.
