EY Restructuring provides leadership in difficult and complex situations to rapidly solve, execute and ultimately transform the outcome. Delivered globally - connected locally, fully digitally enabled and built on deep sector experience.
We deliver solutions at pace. Whether our clients are companies, financial stakeholders, government organisations or investors and whether they are on the brink of a crisis or seeking to build resilience in their business, we work closely alongside them to deliver the financial and organisational outcomes that enable them to adapt and succeed.
- Restructuring support
On lender negotiations, covenant resets, recapitalisations, capital raising, distressed/accelerated M&A and other special situations, including In-court and out-of-court transactions.
- Independent Business Reviews (IBRs)
We use our sector experience and data analytics to determine the cause of underperformance, underlying viability and opportunities for improvement, enabling focus on issues rather than concern over information quality and transparency
- Simplifying corporate structures / Members Voluntary Liquidation
Group structures can become increasingly complex through acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures and organic growth. This can lead to increased costs, as well as difficulties managing risk, simplifying operations, improving transparency, and complying with changing regulation. We support a diverse range of organisations, from large multi-national companies seeking to reduce their global entity footprint, or a small organisation looking to remove a single entity from their structure.
- Creditors Voluntary Liquidations
We can assist companies that are insolvent and have no reasonable prospect of turnaround by acting as liquidator. Creditors Voluntary Liquidations are a common process in Ireland whereby the Liquidator will cease trade and sell the company assets in order to repay creditors.
- Court Liquidation
A petition is brought to the High Court to wind up the company. A provisional/official liquidator is appointed to wind it up and liaise with the High Court Examiner during the process.
This is an insolvency process that affords a viable business protection from its creditors for a defined period of 70-100 days while the Examiner seeks new investment to enable a scheme of arrangement to be presented to the Court. Whether a business is in crisis or simply faced with an operational challenge, we help management teams identify and prioritise the most critical issues, stabilise the business, build stakeholder consensus around the solution and deliver tangible results quickly.
- Pension Challenges
We help trustees and corporate clients assess the strength of employer covenants and affordability analysis to determine the extent to which sponsors can contribute cash to fund deficit recovery over a given period.
- Liquidity and working capital improvement
Whether a successful business or an organisation experiencing a cash crisis, we help identify cash generating opportunities, forecast cash flow and gain visibility and control.
