Alan leads EY Global media relations and social media for Global Markets. In this role he focuses on protecting, supporting and building the reputation of EY Growth Markets, EY C-Suite programs and EY Global Industry sectors. This portfolio includes the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year program, IPO and strategic transactions, family businesses, entrepreneurship, Women. Fast forward and EY Beacon Institute. He leads a PR team of seven people across Growth Markets, C-Suite programs and EY Global Industry.
Having joined EY in 2016 from a multi-award-winning communications consultancy that he founded, he has run public relations agencies in New York City and London and served as Public Relations Director at a mass media, information and technology company. Prior to moving into media relations, he was a financial journalist.
Alan has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Central Lancashire University. He is currently a Chartered Public Relations Practitioner through the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR).
How Alan is building a better working world
Alan sits on the Board of Trustees for a UK-based water charity that is working to provide lasting positive change to people’s lives in Malawi by improving the quality, availability and use of water for poor, rural and hard-to-reach communities. Additionally, the charity operates a program that trains and mentors local entrepreneurs in Malawi to equip them with skills to set up viable businesses that increase access to water in their communities.
