What qualifications are you looking for among the candidates?

We are looking for highly motivated people who are adept at original and creative thinking, as well as problem-solving. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic and talented people who combine excellent analytical skills with the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly.

Qualifications we hope to see in a candidate include:

  • Outstanding record of academic achievement
  • Demonstrated aptitude for analytics
  • Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Highly effective communication skills in English and Japanese

In addition, for experienced hires, experience in consulting, in-house projects, or involvement as a member in the following areas is highly desirable:

  • Experience in M&A strategy, business development policy and reform, strategy projects related to overseas expansion, global strategy projects, (PMI), and/or project management.
  • Experience in mid-term corporate planning within industrial companies, business planning, capital tie-up strategies, business development, technology strategy formulation, etc.
  • Experience in working in the investment department of a maker/industrial company.
  • Experience in performing project evaluations related to business investments within an investment firm.
  • Project management experience in PMI or business process re-engineering.

Will I be expected to specialize in a specific sector?

No. We aim to have our staff exposed to a wide variety of sectors and projects as much as possible, to maximize the learning opportunity. In later stages of your career at EY-Parthenon, you are expected to start specializing in specific sectors and/or project types.

What is the interview process at EY-Parthenon’s Japan office?

We will contact only those candidates who are selected to interview. Whilst the recruitment process may vary depending on the position, our selection process typically involves resume screening, face-to-face interviews, case studies, and an aptitude test if you are a student or an experienced hire candidate with a few years of full-time working experience.

I am living outside of Japan. Can I apply to EY-Parthenon’s Japan office?

Yes. We welcome job applications from outside of Japan. If you are not physically in Tokyo, we can interview on Skype or over the phone. There are no major differences between a Skype and face-to-face interview.

Do you sponsor work visas?

Yes. EY-Parthenon’s Japan office does sponsor work visas for full-time employment and summer internship positions.

Campus hires

We run regular full-time recruitment and summer internship programs for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as MBA students with full-time working experience. Summer internships are mainly aimed at final year MBAs who are available for the 4-week internship at our Tokyo office during the summer.
