Overview

At EY-Parthenon, we offer recruits two practices to choose from in applying: Growth Strategy and M&A Strategy.

Based upon the type of work you are interested in performing, and/or your specific background or skillset, you can choose either Growth Strategy or M&A Strategy, whichever aligns best with your career ambition.

Below is a high-level outline of the two practices. Review the tabs corresponding to the below sections you are interested in to help determine for which practice to apply.

In addition, within these practices, we do have two of specialized career tracks requiring unique skill sets: Software Strategy in our Growth Strategy practice and Deal Technology and Finance in our M&A Strategy practice. Growth Strategy

Overview of Growth Strategy careers

The Growth Strategy practice makes up about 30% of EY-Parthenon’s business. If you choose to launch your career in our Growth Strategy practice, you can expect to spend most of your time focused on our Growth and Diligence capabilities. Software Strategy is another capability under our Growth Strategy practice. This capability requires a unique skillset of technical capabilities, and a passion for working in the software economy. Growth and diligence: What you will learn

If you join our Growth Strategy practice, you can expect to spend most of your time on our Growth and Diligence capabilities. Below you can learn more about what you will learn and some examples.

M&A strategy

Overview of M&A Strategy careers

The M&A Strategy practice makes up about 70% of EY-Parthenon’s business. If you choose to launch your career in our M&A Strategy practice, you can expect to spend most of your time focused on our Deal Management and Execution and Value Creation capabilities. Deal management and execution and value creation: What you will learn

If you join our M&A Strategy practice, you can expect to spend most of your time on our Deal Management and Execution and Value Creation capabilities. Deal Technology and Finance is another capability, which requires a special skillset. Below you can learn more about what you will learn and some examples.

DEAL MANAGEMENT AND EXECUTION

  • What will you learn?
    • You will learn to help our corporate and private equity clients’ optimize the value their acquisitions and divestitures through activities such as supporting the Integration Management Office (IMO) activities, development of operation model and organization design, deal contract support, etc.
  • What are some example engagements?
    • Integration planning and synergy assessment of two Fortune 500 food and beverage companies
    • Target operating model development for a Fortune 100 global bank

VALUE CREATION

  • What will you learn?
    • You will learn to help our clients’ improve business unit operations and performance through various proven actions including cost saving, capital release and topline initiatives to fund growth.
  • What are some example engagements?
    • Post-deal value creation planning and implementation (i.e. sales & marketing, cost reduction, and working capital enhancement)
    • Working capital optimization for a digital advertising company

DEAL TECH AND FINANCE

  • What will you learn?
    • You will learn to solve complex technology and finance deal-related issues. Individuals who are interested in working in this area should reach out to the M & A Strategy team coming to their campus, to learn more about skillsets and qualifications needed.
  • What are some example engagements?
    • Accelerated close process design as a part of an integration for a Fortune 100 industrials company
    • IT cutover planning for a divestiture of a business unit within a Fortune 100 retailer
