Mac Remote Password Reset

Prerequisites


  • You should have setup Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), or two additional ways of verifying your identity (ex. Authenticator app, call, or personal email).
  • If you are working remotely, PingID should be installed on your mobile device.

Step 1:

Reset your EY password


  • Visit aka.ms/sspr on any device.
  • Enter your EY email address and complete the CAPTCHA.
  • Select I forgot my password.
  • Verify your identity with the two methods you set up for MFA.
  • Follow the prompts to reset your password.

Step 2:

Get your Mac Recovery Key


  • Visit aka.ms/cpdevices on any device and sign in with your new password.
  • Select your Mac from your list of EY devices.
  • Scroll down to Device encryption and select Get Recovery Key.

Step 3:

Use your Mac Recovery Key


  • Shut down your Mac.
  • Press and hold the power button. Once you see Loading Startup options, you can release it.
  • Select the Options icon and then Forgot all passwords.
  • Enter your Recovery Key and follow the prompts to reset your Mac password using your new password.
  • Select the Apple logo at the top left corner of the screen and then Restart.

Step 4:

Synch your new password


  • Log in to your Mac using your new password.
  • If your are not in an EY office, open Connect Tunnel and connect to the EY network.
  • Follow the MacOS prompts and enter your new password twice.

And that is it, you are in!.
