Sarbanes-Oxley Solutions Centre
As more companies list on the US stock exchange, and regulators such as the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) take a greater interest, many have not modified the way they manage internal controls since they implemented internal control over financial reporting (ICFR) programmes as part of their Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) implementation. But SOX and ICFR controls need to respond to the challenges of ever-changing business and regulatory landscapes.
We are a leading SOX services provider, and our multi-disciplinary teams help European foreign private issuers (FPIs) and US companies with European subsidiaries implement a robust, pragmatic SOX framework which suits their business needs and meets SOX regulatory requirements.
SOX Symposium - Friday 18 October 2019
The purpose of the event is to:
- Share recent regulatory developments from the PCAOB and SEC which impact SOX
- Discuss the impact of legislation, and advancements in technology on SOX/ICFR programmes
- Recognise the role of External Auditors and ways to collaborate to effectively manage that relationship
- Connect SOX/ICFR professionals to share experiences and leading practices

How we can help

Our success stories
Chinese-based Energy client
We helped a Chinese-based energy client with a UK subsidiary implement C-SOX (Chinese SOX) across their UK business within a two month period. Our teams identified finance process improvement opportunities to enhance the efficiency of the finance function, and helped with process and control documentation and testing and remediation of control deficiencies.
US-based Entertainment client
We helped a US-based entertainment client with European subsidiaries implement SOX across the UK, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany and Austria in 12 months. Local EY teams carried out work to make sure the best culture and language fit was achieved, and our London SOX Solutions Centre team led and co-ordinated the project to secure a consistent approach and the highest standards. We helped with SOX Scoping, process and control documentation and testing, remediation of control deficiencies and SOX Certification, and delivered live web-based training to over 200 employees across Europe.
Life Science clients
We are working with a number of clients in the Life Sciences sector to develop a suite of SOX controls. We are helping start-up companies with a relatively immature control environment to establish a fully operating SOX compliant control framework as a part of preparation for their first year of SOX compliance. We are also helping listed companies with a mature SOX environment to remediate identified material weaknesses and strengthen the controls.
