Rebalancing the economy
Demonstrating that Scotland is open for business, we deliver widely referenced ‘state of the nation’ reports, including the EY Scottish Attractiveness Survey, EY Scottish ITEM Club economic report and our Review of the UK Oilfield Services Industry; which analyses the economic contribution the supply chain makes to the economy.
21st-century businesses face a constant challenge of keeping pace in an accelerating world, while dealing with a changing political and economic environment. Our latest insight helps make sense of change, providing analysis to help businesses and government understand the economic and trade environments they operate in, and plan accordingly. We work with both private and public sectors, facilitating the debate between business and government, supporting economic development, growth and regeneration.
Across Scotland’s vibrant and thriving entrepreneurial economy, the middle market in particular is having a significant impact on growth.
This success, however, also brings business leaders the daily challenges of securing growth capital, keeping abreast of the latest technology changes, perfecting internal management structures, and getting the right tools to expand.
Many middle market companies need to become more strategic in their planning and thinking, and in implementing tools such as data analytics and social media presence. These dynamic businesses are export orientated, and hungry for success and expansion – but they also need the right tools to help them succeed.
EY has been active in this market for a long time, and is in it for the long term.
We have a long-standing presence as a trusted advisor to middle market businesses through our focus on entrepreneurship and fast-growth.
We are committed to supporting entrepreneurs as key economic drivers. EY’s Entrepreneur Of The Year programme, founded to celebrate and support the vibrant contribution entrepreneurs make, is an example. Our Scottish finalists join an illustrious global alumni community offering a wealth of insight and networking opportunities with business leaders and supporters committed to driving entrepreneurial activity.
