Reputation and consumer sentiment should matter a great deal to the oil and gas industry. Public views can effect oil and gas business operations, their stock price, their future as an employer, their interaction with the communities where they work, even the market for their product. To better understand the differences between reality and perception around oil and gas, EY conducted a nationwide poll of more than 1,200 consumers and 100 industry executives in the US.
