EY’s Karen Gilbreath Sowell to lead New York State Bar Association Tax Section

Ernst & Young LLP (EY) announced today Karen Gilbreath Sowell has been appointed to lead the New York State Bar Association Tax Section (NYSBATS).
Sowell is Co-Leader of Mergers and Acquisitions Group and serves as National Tax Director of Global Accounts, advising some of the firm’s most prominent clients on how to structure tax-efficient acquisitions and dispositions. In addition to her career at EY, Sowell was the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy at the U.S. Department of the Treasury from 2007 to 2009, and Associate Tax Legislative Counsel and Attorney-Advisor from 1997 to 2001.
