Ernst & Young LLP ranks in top 10 of Working Mother Best Companies list for 10th consecutive year and 19 years overall on the list

Firm awarded recognition for progressive workplace programs and benefits

Today, Working Mother magazine named Ernst & Young LLP as one of the 2015 Working Mother 100 Best Companies for its commitment to progressive workplace programs, including flexibility, child care and paid parental leave. Overall, the firm has been on the list for 19 years and for the tenth consecutive year, it has landed in the top 10, further demonstrating its commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace culture for working parents.

This recognition highlights EY’s, and Ernst & Young LLP’s, long-term commitment to providing   a flexible and inclusive workplace and benefits and resources that help its working parents succeed and manage complex responsibilities. Some of the firm’s competitive benefits include:

  • Paid parental leave benefits: The firm’s fully-paid parental leave package provides 14 weeks off for birth moms, six weeks off for primary care dads and primary care adoptive parents. Two weeks of fully paid time off is available for all parents who are not considered the primary. Ernst & Young LLP also offers four additional weeks off beyond the 12 weeks the Family and Medical Leave Act requires. Roughly 1,200 people a year take parental leave in the US – half of which are men.
  • Career & Family Transitions Coaching Program: The firm’s Career and Family Transitions Coaching program provides support to parents as they welcome a new child through birth or adoption. Through individual and group sessions, internal coaches help parents plan for transition needs and set realistic goals and expectations before, during and after parental leave. They also advise participants’ internal counselors about how best to support EY people during this critical time.
  • Lactation Consultation: Since 2006, the firm has provided lactation consultation to new moms and a hospital grade pump is available to moms and the women spouses/significant others of dads at the firm.  Since 2007, we have provided breast milk delivery kits to new moms, which allows them to continue breast feeding while traveling for business. The lactation program benefits, including the consultations, are now available to all people at Ernst & Young LLP, including our male professionals and the partners/spouses of our professionals, who are covered by an EY health benefit package. Additionally, each firm office in the US has private nursing rooms available for new moms.
  • Care options: All Ernst & Young LLP people have access to LifeCare Inc. for Resource and ReferralsmCare.com and Bright Horizons to find care for their kids and other family members, including adults — even their pets. The firm reimburses up to $400 in back-up care expenses.
