EY’s Kate Barton, Bill Casey and Edwina Fitzmaurice named to the Irish America Business 100 list
New York, 13 December 2017
Ernst & Young LLP announced today that Kate Barton, EY Americas Vice Chair of Tax Services; Bill Casey, EY Americas Vice Chair of Transaction Advisory Services (TAS); and Edwina Fitzmaurice, EY Global Advisory Markets & Business Development Leader; were named to the Irish America Business 100 list. This is Casey’s third year on the list and Barton and Fitzmaurice’s first.
The annual Irish America Business 100 is known for honoring the best and the brightest Irish-American and Irish-born leaders representing some of the most innovative and influential companies and corporations in the world.
“It’s an honor to receive such wonderful recognition,” said Kate Barton, EY Americas Vice Chair of Tax Services. “I am very proud of my Irish heritage, which is more than a personal marker of identity, it is a thread that connects me to a rich history and shared values. Both my maternal and paternal grandparents immigrated to Boston from Ireland when they were young adults, and their zest for life and optimism are traits I continue to admire and try to emulate.”
“This award is deeply meaningful to me, on both a personal and a professional level,” said Bill Casey, EY Americas Vice Chair of Transaction Advisory Services. “As a leader, I strive to foster an environment in which all of our people harness their differences to deliver exceptional client service to our stakeholders. I aim to lead our teams by example, through a combination of humility and hard work. These values are rooted in the Irish heritage instilled in me—through my mother and father from County Mayo, and the generations that came before. It is therefore a privilege to accept this award alongside colleagues like Kate Barton and Edwina Fitzmaurice, as well as fellow members of the Irish business community.”
“I am honored to join the distinguished list of Irish America Business leaders,” said Edwina Fitzmaurice, EY Global Advisory Markets & Business Development Leader. “Perseverance and determination were instilled in me throughout my upbringing, and I strive to bring this to every interaction with businesses around the world as we work with them to solve truly complex and challenging issues.”
For more than 30 years, this list has sought to recognize the phenomenal success of the Irish in corporate America and celebrate three decades of executives, managers, partners, and directors. The honorees represent some of the most innovative and impactful organizations doing business in the United States.
The 32nd Annual Irish America Business 100 Awards dinner will be on December 13 at the Metropolitan Club of New York.
