We welcome nominations for the 2010 program, which can be submitted either by completing and returning a registration of interest form, or by contacting your regional Entrepreneur Of The Year program manager here.

New countries joining EOY
The Entrpreneur Of The Year program continues to expand around the world. Several new countries joined the Middle East regional program, which now draws nominations from Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Suadi Arabia, Syria and UAE. In 2009, the first Entrepreneur Of The Year in Mexico will be held.

EOY country programs
EOY is presented in more than 135 cities worldwide. In 2008, winners from more than 40 countries gathered in Monte Carlo on 28–31 May for the 8th annual World Entrepreneur Of The Year Award. Find out more about the EOY Programs.

Conversations with the new champions: business as usual?
The Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2009, World Economic Forum, held in Dalian, China, brought together a new generation of business leaders with the potential to lead the recovery from the economic crisis. In this video, we asked them if the economic crisis created an opportunity for global realignment.

Seizing Opportunities: A once in a lifetime chance
In response to the downturn, Ernst & Young recently surveyed 3,100 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award country winners and finalists. Our findings (pdf, 1.4mb) show that 67% of high-growth company CEOs and entrepreneurs are taking advantage of the downturn by "pursuing new market opportunities".

Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur Of The Year 2009 winner 
From a group of 43 exceptional entrepreneurs from around the world, Cao Dewang, Chairman of China's Fuyao Glass Industry Group, was named the 2009  Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur Of The Year at a glittering award ceremony in Monte Carlo. Cao is an example of the new breed of entrepreneurs based in the emerging markets who are bursting onto the global stage. Read more.

When 43 of the world's best entrepreneurs gathered for the 2009 World Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards in Monte Carlo, they were asked to share their wisdom on today's hottest topics. Their thoughts are encapsulated in a series of short videos, Conversations with entrepreneurs.

Events

Regional award ceremonies
From an outstanding group of nominees this year, regional category winners were announced at award ceremonies around the country in July and August. Those category winners will now go on to compete for the title of 2009 Australian Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year announced at the national awards on 12 November in Sydney.

The road to Monte Carlo
The 2008 Entrepreneur Of The Year country winners gathered in Monte Carlo on 28-31 May 2009 for the Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur Of The Year award. In a field of high achieving business leaders, Cao Dewang, Chairman of China's Fuyao Glass Industry Group, was named the Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur Of The Year 2009.
