Supporting our communities through Tabung COVID EY

27 Sep 2021

EY sets up Tabung COVID EY to support Malaysia’s front-liners and communities that have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to negatively impact the lives and livelihoods of people in our community. Our front-liners and the healthcare ecosystem are strained and many people in our community are struggling to make ends meet.

To help alleviate some of the burden on those affected, EY Malaysia has set up Tabung COVID EY in August 2021. Funds collected from EY people will be contributed to selected non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to help meet the immediate needs of those impacted.

The first two recipients of funds from Tabung COVID EY are United Sikhs Malaysia (USM) and ‘Pay It Forward’ campaign by WOMEN:girls and Groove Grocer.

The USM has initiated a drive to provide oxygen concentrators and pulse oximeters to COVID-19 patients in need. Using the initial funds from Tabung COVID EY, USM has purchased 10 oxygen concentrators and 200 pulse oximeters for distribution and use by COVID-19 patients.

The ‘Pay It Forward’ campaign is a joint initiative by WOMEN:girls and Groove Grocer. The program aims to help B40 individuals and families or those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley, with basic food supplies.

“EY Malaysia” refers to one or more EY member firms in Malaysia.
