Lau Kee Von

Lau Kee Von has more than 30 years experience in the manufacturing and wholesale of confectionery products. He started out as a partner of Lau Brothers Food Trading Co in 1976, which was primarily involved in the distribution of confectionery products. In 1984, he and a few other partners incorporated LB Food Sdn Bhd, currently one of the subsidiaries within the Group, to take over the operations of the partnership. At the same time, he was appointed the Managing Director of LB Food Sdn Bhd and Cocoaland Industry Sdn Bhd. Under his stewardship, the Group has grown from a family business concern into one of the largest confectionery manufacturers and distributors in Malaysia.

Incorporated in June 2000, Cocoaland Holdings Bhd is the investment holding company of a group of subsidiaries that are principally involved in the manufacturing, trading and distribution of a large range of food products. Besides manufacturing for the OEM market, Cocoaland concentrates on three industrial food categories, namely snack food, chocolate and sugar confectionery, and soft drinks. Cocoaland’s products are carried by a growing number of reputable retail stores, including 7-11, AEON-BIG, Tesco, Giant and 99 Speedmart. Besides the domestic market, Cocoaland Group has been supplying confectionery to overseas markets such as the USA, Korea, Canada, Middle East, Hong Kong, Indonesia, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, South Africa and other Asian countries.

Cocoaland was listed on the KLSE in 2005 and subsequently transferred to the Main Board in 2006. Since its listing, Cocoaland’s revenue has achieved consistent year-on-year growth. It has never suffered losses in any financial year, testifying to the fundamental strength of the company and the leadership and contribution of Lau.
