From now till 30 June 2023, members of the public and the business community are invited to nominate outstanding Malaysian entrepreneurs for the 22nd EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ (EOY) awards Malaysia awards.

The EOY Malaysia award programme seeks to recognize and honour some of Malaysia’s most exemplary entrepreneurs across four categories: Emerging, Technology, Woman and Master. An overall country winner, who will be chosen from among the four category winners, will then go on to represent Malaysia at the prestigious EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year (WEOY) next year.

Nominees will be assessed by a panel of independent judges guided by a set of globally benchmarked criteria that include entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, growth and impact.

The theme for the awards this year is “The Art of Entrepreneurship”, in recognition of entrepreneurs who continuously repaint and reframe our economy from innovative new angles through their passionate work and commitment.

Philip Rao, Programme Director of EOY Malaysia and Partner, Ernst & Young Consulting Sdn. Bhd says:

“The theme this year pays homage to the artful balance of passion, determination, character, and skills that are needed to create businesses that address the most complex challenges and build a better working world. Outstanding entrepreneurs, in the pursuit of their entrepreneurial aspirations to build a company that is resilient towards challenges and disruption, persistently demonstrate these exceptional qualities. In doing so, they create genuine masterpieces that leave a valuable and lasting impact on the communities and the economies in which they operate.”

Rao continues, “Over the past 21 years, the EOY Malaysia award programme has grown to become an important part of our local entrepreneurial ecosystem. To date, the programme has had the privilege to celebrate over 300 of our home-grown entrepreneurs, representing various industries and scale. We look forward to showcasing more of such inspiring visionaries and innovators, their successes and their positive impact through the award programme, both on the national and global platforms.”

Come June this year, Chu Jenn Weng (朱振荣), President and CEO of ViTrox Corporation Bhd and EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2022 Malaysia, will represent Malaysia at the WEOY, in Monte Carlo, to compete with winners from close to 60 other countries.

“We believe there are many inspiring entrepreneurial stories in Malaysia that deserve to be shared and celebrated. We strongly encourage our local entrepreneurs, regardless of their industry, size and background, to participate in the EOY Malaysia programme, which is the first step towards WEOY,” urges Rao.
