Dong-Han Yoon, Chairman, Kolmar Korea Holdings Co., Ltd.

Dong-Han Yoon’s life reached a turning point when he was offered a prestigious position running a large pharmaceutical business. He declined and instead embarked on his lifelong dream of becoming an entrepreneur. In 1990, he founded Kolmar Korea and has overseen its growth into a global cosmetics, health care and pharmaceutical company.

Kolmar Korea became the first company in South Korea to adopt an original design manufacturing (ODM) model of business, providing end-to-end services from trend identification, product planning and product development to product shipment and product management.

Dong-Han believes the company’s success is due to its unerring focus on R&D and technology. Kolmar Korea invests more than 5% of its annual sales in R&D, and 30% of employees work specifically on the technology behind their products. It recently broke ground becoming the first company to use 3D-printing technology in the manufacturing of a moisturizing cream.
