Rajiv Memani

Chairman of the Global Emerging Markets Committee

In his role as Chairman of the Global Emerging Markets committee, Rajiv's responsibilities include connecting emerging markets with developed markets, ensuring that emerging markets' voice is considered in all key decisions, and recommending investment plans for the emerging markets. Together with Albert Ng from China, Rajiv represents the emerging markets on the GE. Rajiv is also our India Regional Managing Partner.

Previous experience

Rajiv joined EY in 1988. He established EY India's market-leading Transaction Advisory Practice in the late 1990s. In 2004, Rajiv was appointed as India's Regional Managing Partner. EY has consistently been recognized as India's leading professional services organization. Rajiv is active with many clients, principally fast-growing Indian multinationals and private equity funds.

Rajiv has been a member of the Emerging Markets Committee since 2011. Working with the other Emerging Markets Regional Managing Partners, he has promoted strong collaboration between these markets, particularly in Advisory and M&A services in the Middle East, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Africa.

Credentials and community activities

Rajiv is affiliated with a number of prominent business and industry associations, including the World Economic Forum's New Asian Leaders. He is a member of the National Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in addition to being the Chairman of CII's National Committee on Tax.

He is also the past President and a member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). He has been instrumental in creating the EY Foundation in India and continues to be the driving force behind its wide-ranging programs in the areas of education, environment, rural empowerment and micro-entrepreneurship for women.

Rajiv has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the Shri Ram College of Commerce. He is an Indian Chartered Accountant.
