What is Valuation Modelling & Economics?

Evaluating a potential transaction, market opportunity or strategic decision involves a lot of complex factors. We bring them all together in quantitative business models that help EY clients understand the implications and act accordingly. As a part of the Valuation, Modelling & Economics team you'll help clients develop, evaluate and confirm their capital and growth strategies based on informed viewpoints. You'll work with clients in areas such as understanding the specific value proposition for complex business holdings and investments, testing and evolving strategic capital decisions and identifying non-core assets for divesting.
 

What could you be doing?

  • Work on a variety of EY clients from small business to multinational corporations
  • Use specialist modelling techniques to solve challenges for major companies
  • Understand and applying specialist valuation techniques to value businesses and other key assets
  • Perform research and analysis on various sectors and industries

Your career journey in Valuation Modelling & Economics

As a graduate, you’ll be part of our 12-month graduate development programme that has been developed for graduates in all service lines, and is focused on connection, learning and celebration.

The programme will provide you with the opportunity to network with your peers from other service lines and geographies. Running in parallel to your technical learning, you will develop leadership skills to become a successful graduate, and as you grow as a transformative leader.

As an Valuation Modelling & Economics graduate, you’ll take part in:-

  • Team wide training sessions covering key valuation and modelling concepts
  • Undertake a two- or three-day model development case study exercise
  • Work on live projects
  • Direct interaction with clients to understand their business and needs

As a intern, after our company induction, you’ll start developing an understanding of how our Valuation Modelling & Economics teams work and will be ready to work alongside teams on real client projects. You’ll meet other new interns from your office.

Your buddy and your counsellor will help you learn your way around the organisation, set your goals and plan your development while you’re here. You'll be well looked after with ongoing learning throughout the Intern Programme with sessions facilitated by our Learning and Development team, Campus Recruitment team and service line specific training. The Intern Programme is a great way to gain valuable audit experience, skills and networks to start building your career.
