Danail Gecev is a Partner within EY’s Assurance practice, who joined EY in September 2006.
Danail has vast professional experience in providing assurance services to local and multinational companies in various industries such as real estate, automotive, retail and wholesale, technology, energy and others. Danail has served major state and municipal enterprises. In the recent years he is focused on delivering assurance services to Shared Service Centers (SSC).
In his role as a local IFRS help desk leader and revenue and leases subject matter expert, Danail lectures on IFRS matters both internally and externally. He is organizing and delivering technical seminars on hot financial reporting topics providing technical consultations on complex accounting issues. He has lead a number of IFRS conversion projects for Bulgarian and foreign subsidiaries of multinational companies.
Danail has a master’s degree in Finance and Banking from the Sofia University “St Kliment Ohridski”. He is a Bulgarian Certified Public Accountant and a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (AССА), UK. He is also a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
