Chris has been a Partner in the Ernst & Young LLP Financial Services Consulting practice since 2021 and serves as Chair of the EY Global Regulatory Network. He works with a broad range of clients, including central banks, FinTechs, and some of the world’s largest financial services firms. 

Chris brings over 25 years of experience in challenging public service roles to EY. He has significant senior leadership experience and a deep understanding of regulation, innovation and government.

Prior to EY, he held several senior public roles in the UK and internationally, including serving on the board of the Financial Conduct Authority as interim Chief Executive.   

In recognition of his contributions to both Regulation and FinTech, he was appointed Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2021.

“As the financial services industry reshapes, I work with clients to enhance their strategy, resilience and customer focus. My goal with both EY teams and clients is to emphasize innovation and the positive role it can play in the future of financial services.

Since 2021, I have been a trustee for “Which?”, UK’s fifth largest charity and consumer champion, where I also chair the committee overseeing its charitable activities.  

In 2025, I was appointed by the City of London and Innovate Finance to chair the RegTech Strategy Group, an initiative aimed at fostering growth of the RegTech industry in the UK. 

As EY UK’s Social Mobility Champion and previous board member for the City of London and Government’s Social Mobility Task Force, I am passionate about helping create pathways that enable people from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds to thrive, helping ensure that everyone has access to the resources and opportunities necessary for success.”
