With more than 23 years of experience at EY, five of which working out of the London office, Ayres has ample accounting knowledge acquired in accounting audit and consulting projects for several Brazilian and European companies, including companies with securities registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He is a results-driven executive, who values objectivity, knowledge and excellence at work.
Ayres is currently involved in several BR GAAP/IFRS and USGAAP projects, including the implementation of new accounting standards, and the preparation of financial statements and accounting reconciliations, with experience in companies from different sectors, including the industrial, retail, technology, communications and automotive segments.
Ayres is also a technical advisor for the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB) and a member of the Consulting Group in charge of preparing new international accounting standards for the Brazilian public sector.
He holds a BA in accounting and business administration, and has an MBA from Ibmec in Brazil and postgraduate studies in England. In addition, he is certified in International Financial Accounting Reporting from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
