As the EY Americas Power, Utilities and Renewables Tax Leader, Brian leads renewable energy initiatives for the region. With more than 25 years of sector experience, he works closely with clients, industry groups and other stakeholders to identify and resolve complex industry and company issues.

Prior to rejoining EY, Brian served as the Vice President of Tax for NextEra Energy, a Fortune 200 company and one of the US’ top power companies, where he was responsible for all tax matters, including the IPO of the highly successful yieldco, NextEra Energy Partners, LP.

Brian is Founder and former President of STARTUP (State Tax Roundtable for Utilities & Power), the premier industry group focused on state taxes, and is a frequent speaker for industry conferences including Edison Electric Institute (EEI).

Brian received his M.Acc (Tax Concentration) and BS in Accounting with honors from the University of Florida.
