Anil Kumar Puri is a seasoned Partner at Ernst & Young Tax Consultants Sdn. Bhd., with over 24 years of experience in tax consulting and compliance work. 

Anil leads the International Corporate Tax Advisory, Tax Technical and Tax Oil & Gas teams in Malaysia. He has advised on the tax implications of cross-border transactions (both inbound and outbound), merger and acquisition (M&A) exercises and restructuring projects. His experience includes advising on withholding taxes, permanent establishments, capital gains taxes, stamp duties, tax incentives, structuring of operations in a business-focused and tax efficient manner, exit strategies and the impact of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECD) Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) Action Plans and BEPS 2.0 on operations as well as holding and transactional structures. Anil also regularly works on tax due diligence exercises. 

Anil holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree from Monash University, Australia. He is a Council Member of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM), a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and a Fellow Member of CPA Australia. Anil is a sought-after speaker at tax conferences and industry events.
