Yeo Beng Yean is a Partner in Assurance at Ernst & Young PLT, with over 30 years of experience in assurance, due diligence and advisory services across financial institutions including insurance and takaful operators, commercial, Islamic and investment banks, stockbroking companies and asset and fund managers.
He serves as an engagement partner for a wide range of financial institutions, including leading the validation and implementation reviews of MFRS 9 Financial Instruments and MFRS 17 Insurance Contracts. He has significant experience in due diligence for mergers and acquisitions (M&As), reporting accountant roles for initial public offering (IPO) and transaction exercises, as well as non‑audit advisory engagements.
He is also a subject matter reference on accounting, regulatory simulations and policy development for deposit‑taking institutions and insurers and has contributed to regulatory advisory work across Malaysia and Singapore.
Beng Yean actively contributes to the profession through industry dialogues, technical training and past involvement as an adjudicator for the National Annual Corporate Report Awards (NACRA). He currently serves on the Financial Statements Review Committee of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).
He holds a Bachelor in Accounting from Universiti Malaya and is a member of both MICPA and Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
